The night before we left Norway House Gerald took me
into the woods, and taught me how to set rabbit snares.
As we walked through the deep snow and dense bush Gerald
watched for signs in the snow left by passing animals
and chose two locations to set snares. In the morning
Adam and Gerald returned to the bush to retrieve the
snares and check for rabbits. They were sucessful and
returned with a beautiful snowshoe hare. We sent the
hare home with Gerald and Preston confident that with
our new knowledge we will be able to snare our own rabbits.
Two nights ago I set 3 snares in hopes of getting a
rabbit, but was unsucessful. I will try again soon,
and hopefully we will be able to have our first rabbit
dinner soon thanks to Gerald and Preston!
