Daily Dilemma

We have approximately $800 of our traveling budget left to cover all of our expenses between now and November 21st. How much money in dollars, and colones can we spend each day? One dollar is 410 colones. Do you think this will be enough money to cover our expenses? If you think we are going to need more money what are some things we could do to save money. If you think we will have extra money what should we spend our extra money on, or should we save the money for our next adventure?

Exploring San Jose!

November 6th 7:00 PM San Jose, Costa Rica

Last night we arrived back in San Jose, after spending the last week exploring the Caribbean coast. Leaving the tranquility of Tortuguero was difficult to do, knowing that we would spend the next few days in the large, crowded, noisy city of San Jose. However there are still plenty of adventures to embark on within the city and the surrounding valley.

The city of San Jose is locate in Costa Rica's Central Valley.

This week's poll was very close, so we are going to try to learn about coffee and visit the Irazu volcano.

On Saturday we will take a bus to Irazu National Park and visit the Irazu Volcano. Eric and I do not know much about Volcanoes and we are excited to learn about them.

(Left) Frosty wonders if this was the first futbol! Do some research and find out what these large spheres are and why they are important to Costa Rica

Tomorrow we are hoping to go a coffee processing plant to learn about how coffee is grown, harvested, and processed. Coffee is one of Costa Rica's major exports and provides a lot of jobs for Ticos. However, if coffee is grown in an irresponsible manor it can be very bad for the environment. We are excited to learn more about the responsible way of growing coffee!

A special thanks to everyone that joined us in the Chat Room on Thursday! As always you had lots of great questions.

Keep Exploring,

Dave
