Teacher Workshops

SHEDD AQUARIUM TEACHER WORKSHOPS

All attending teachers will receive 2 CPDUs per workshop! Please register by emailing dave@wildernessclassroom.com with your name, the date of the workshop you would like to attend, school name, and the name and email addresses of any other teachers from your school who plan to attend.

Chicago area students learning about the Amazon Rainforest
Students play in a rainforest they built as part of their Rainforest Unit.

This free, two hour workshop is designed to give educators working with 3rd to 8th grade students an introduction to the Amazon Rain Forest and the basic skills needed to engage students in the Trans-America Expedition (TAE).

Through TAE thousands of students from around the globe are joining scientists, educators, and explorers as they explore the Amazon Rain Forest . In this hands-on workshop you will learn how to participate, and to integrate the journal entries, quizzes, videos and scientific data that are available on our web site into your existing curriculum.

The workshop on September 17th is for teachers who have not used the Wilderness Classroom's online expeditions with their students in the past, and have not attended one of our previous workshops.

The workshop on September 24th is for teachers who have attended the first workshop and teachers who have participated in one or more of our previous online expeditions. The goal of this workshop is to help teachers improve their use of our program and share ideas and resources with other experienced Wilderness Classroom teachers.
