In case you couldn't figure it out just by looking at me, I am the boss dog. Well, at least I want to be the boss dog. I am very big and strong and have beautiful reddish fur. We sled dogs have a pack hierarchy much like wolves. So all of the males rank on one social scale and all of the females have another social scale.

I am still trying to prove my worth. I suppose that is because I am still quite young. I will be three years old in May. I haven't quite convinced all of the males at Wintergreen that I am the alpha male. In order to let all the males know that I am higher ranking than them, I try to pick fights with them. That's right, any male who comes near me better watch out!

The guides don't like this so much. This means that usually they have me run next to a female dog, not another male. Since the females have their own social hierarchy, I don't fight with them. I guess that is a good way to keep the peace. But just you watch out, some day I will convince every male dog in the kennel that I am top dog!
