"All The Woulda-Coulda-Shouldas
Layin' In The Sun,
Talkin' 'Bout The Things
They Woulda-Coulda-Shoulda Done...
But Those Woulda-Coulda-Shouldas
All Ran Away And Hid
From One Little Did." --Shel Silverstein

I might be a young sled dog, but I sure work hard. This is my very first season of pulling. In December this guide, Amy, showed up with a harness and tried to put it on me. First I just jumped up and gave her a hug. After giving that harness a thorough smell, I let her put it on. Then she brought me over to a sled and hooked me up to a sled, with a bunch of other dogs. All these dogs were older and bigger than me. I was really scared at first!
Someone got on the sled behind us and shouted: "Ready . . . Hike!" All the other dogs started running. Since I was sort of caught off-guard, I got pulled for the first couple of feet, while I tried to catch my balance. After making a few bounding leaps, I fell in sync with the dog next to me.
We trotted along, out onto a frozen lake. Then we went up a hill and into the woods. There were so many wonderful things to smell and see. What a great experience! I think the people like it too, because more and more people would come to Wintergreen. All winter, day after day, they'd put my harness on and hook me up to a sled. Now I get to go on this big adventure!
