This is a golden eagle. Golden eagles are normally found mountainous areas and nest of cliffs or tall trees. They are the largest bird of prey in North America with an average wingspan of 79 inches and weighing nearly 10 pounds. They lay only 1-5 eggs at a time and only about half survive to leave their mother's nest.
