Karl Kostner: Fur Trade History

Karl has been a professional re-enactor
for over 10 years and has been a fur trade re-enactor for
almost 30 years! He has worked for Grand Portage National
Monument as a seasonal interpreter for the last 8 summers.
During the winter, Karl travels the country giving presentations
to schools and historical societies, working in movies,
writing, and teaching. There are few people that have as
much knowledge and enthusiasm for the fur trade as Karl.

Joe is a master birch bark canoe
builder. He has been building birch bark canoes for many years
in Quebec's birch filled boreal forest. When he is not building
birch bark canoes, he can be found paddling them all over Canada.
