It is a red sea urchin. These are found in the Pacific Ocean from Alaska to Baja California. It is found near rocky shores to shelter itself from extreme wave abuse. The red sea urchin was one of the many organisms we observed in our scavenger hunt activity today. We hope to see one of these in Bimini. Learn more about sea urchins!
