In the spring of 2014 Dave Freeman and a team explorers returned to the Amazon Rainforest to study the plants, animals, and people of one of the world’s last great wildernesses. The Amazon Rainforest is largest tropical rainforest in the world. This was the Wilderness Classroom’s 6th learning adventure in the Amazon and in many ways it was their most exciting. The amazing biodiversity and unique cultures of the Amazon region provided Dave and his team with a wide range of topics to explore.
The international team of educators and scientists retraced Theodore Roosevelt’s historic journey down an unexplored river 100 years ago. The river was eventually named the Rio Roosevelt in honor of Theodore Roosevelt and his important scientific expedition. The Amazon is home to a wide variety of plants, animals and cultures. The team has returned home, but there is still plenty to explore. We hope you enjoy all the photos and educational content of this archived adventure.
Adults are encourage to follow the expedition through www.FreemansExplore.com .
