Investigating dams along the Winnipeg River

As we paddle up the Winnipeg River, we are encountering a lot of dams. There are seven hydroelectric dams that we must portage around. They are in place to harness the force of the water flowing in the river to produce electricity. As we learn more about these dams and the electricity they produce, we were wondering what you are most curious about. How should we investigate these dams? We could try to take a tour of one of the dams, interview someone living near a dam, or investigate the environmental impact of the dams. Please cast YOUR vote and help us decide what to do.
