It is time to pick a new topic to study. This week we could either learn about the forest, people or water. The Boreal forest (also called taiga) is the world's largest land biome. You could learn about the plants that make up the forest, the animals that live there, and why this biome is important. The Cree and Ojibway have historically and still do live along the shores of the lake. You could learn about the culture and history of these people. The health of the lake has been declining due to agricultural run off and other pollutants from the large communities in the Lake Winnipeg watershed. You could learn about the problems the lake faces and what is being done to improve water quality. What do you want to learn about?
