Next week, if the weather cooperates we will have the unique opportunity to visit the community of Bella Bella. Bella Bella is home to the Heiltsuk Native Band and is the largest community on the Central Coast of British Columbia. Several classes have emailed us to ask about the people living along our route. We would like to visit Bella Bella to learn about the Heiltsuk people, but we are not sure what we should focus on. We may not have very much time in the community and we need your help deciding what we should do.

Option 1: Visit the Bella Bella Community School to learn what it is like to go to school in Bella Bella. If you choose this option please email us questions that you would like us to ask the students.

Option 2: Visit the Heiltsuk Cultural Center and Museum to learn about the local culture and history of the area.

Option 3: Try and visit with Heiltsuk elders to learn how life has changed in Bella Bella over the last 50 years.
