Fennel's Field Notes
30 December 2012
I know it has been a long time since you have heard from me. I am living with my best buddy, Chris, in Ely, Minnesota. This fall we went on a canoe trip. I love canoe trips! I spent part of the time lying in the canoe with my head leaning out the side. This is a great time to take naps. I spent the other part of the time wading in the water. It felt good to cool off. This trip reminded me of last summer, when I was canoeing with Dave and Amy. The difference is that this trip wasn't as long, I think. I had fun canoeing, but I was glad to go back home and sleep on the couch. Chris is my best buddy. He feeds me and pets me. He even lets me sleep in the tent! I am a happy dog!
30 December 2012I have been thinking about my plans for the spring and summer. Dave and Amy read your emails and comments to me. Thank you for sharing your opinions. Some of you want me to go with Dave and Amy. Some think I should stay home. The ideas you shared have helped me make my decision.

There were lots of people there. There was a little campfire on the ice. Someone started cooking bratwursts and hot dogs. I really wanted to get one of those hot dogs!
Dave and Amy were gone for two days. I missed them, but it wasn't too bad. Chris and Jacob let me run along with their dogsledding trip. That was fun! They also fed me well. I sure do like that frozen chicken. In the evening I would hang out with my friends Lufa and Patches. We have a nice straw nest near the dog kennel.
I was happy to see Dave and Amy when they came back. Amy fed me a treat and...
