The pine siskin is a small finch. It is speckled brown, with yellow patches on its wings. Pine siskins live across Alaska, Canada, and northern United States. They like to eat seeds and insects. Their favorite seeds are thistle, red alder, birch, and spruce seeds. When eating seeds, they will hang upside down from the tip of the tree. Their favorite insects are aphids. The pine skiskin got its name because of the sound it makes. |
