What did you learn from the Trans-Amazon Expedition? printer.gif

The expedition team is glad to be done, but we already miss the rhythm of our paddles, the sounds of the rainforest, and meeting new people. We certainly learned a lot about the animals and plants of the rainforest. We learned about new cultures and lifestyles. And we spent time thinking about ways to make this a better world. We want to find out what you learned from the expedition! What did you learn about the Amazon? Did you learn about a new culture or country? Did we inspire you to get outside and explore new places? What will you take away from The Trans-Amazon Expedition? Is there anything that you will change about your lifestyle or habits to be more environmentally-friendly? What are you doing to make our planet better? Answer to yesterday's dilemma: Wow! You had tons of ideas for things we should bring back. We were not able to get everything you mentioned, but we able to find some pottery, a bow and arrow, coins and money from Brazil, and some clothing from Brazil. We will bring as many things as possible with us when we do school visits. See you then! Dave, Amy, Eric, Anne, Jay, and Tony

What is your favorite part of the Trans-Amazon Expedition?

Shelby says you were inspiring because you seemed so excited about the expedition and she also wants to travel. Nina learned that the agouti looks like a guinea pig with bigger legs. Atreyu learned that some kids in the Amazon take a school boat to school. Max learned that howler monkeys can be heard for 3-4 miles. Giannina rides her bike and skateboard a lot more because it's better for the environment. Chris is inspired to go to the amazon now. We are less intimidated about the amazon now because it's not so strange anymore. Nina will take away that pink river dolphins will come up to your boat and they seem like friendly animals, and that the Brazilian people are nice.

We learned a lot about animals in the Rainforest. We never new the Amazon River was so big. You had an amazing journey. We liked the video when the people were getting on and off the boat while it was moving. It was awesome!

We liked learning about new plants and animals. We were surprised that there are people who are living isolated, The "school boat" was so cool. The people ate the food that came from their own land and that is good. Thank you so much for telling us so many new things about the Amazon.
Bon Dia!

We loved the Trans-Amazon adventure. We learned so much about the diversity of the people. The Amazon cleans everyone's air! The people ate so many different kinds of food, and they bought and sold things on the river. We were really surprised that there are modern day pirates. We are lucky that we don't have to sleep under mosquito nets. What was really interesting was the fruit eating fish and that people bopped the piranha on the head. Thank you so much Wilderness Classroom!

I learned that the amazon is a cool place!

I learned that even though you fear things you can achieve things

Hey team! I posted a comment before and I can't find it! It was great to see Dave here at my school a little while ago! I think your expedition was awesome and know I want to go to Brazil! We have been studying your expedition in school! We know all about you guys! Good luck on further expeditions! Bye!

What I learned about the Amazon was what kind of animals live there. But I didn't learn about a new culture or country.

I will now use less water and try not to litter. I will to pick up trash, use less water, and not throw trash on the ground so I can help make planet earth lool better.

I learned that the Amazon is home to many plants and animals, as well as various cultures. Wilderness Classroom also taught me more about animals, plants, and bugs in the Amazon. I have heard of Brazil, but I never knew about Belem.

I think now I will recycle more and I will turn off lights or other electric things when I leave a room, more often. I will try my hardest to make this a cleaner, safer world. I think everyone should be aware of Global Warming.

I learned that the the Amazon
River is not just a icky,
murky, and stinky place. It is the home of wildlife and interesting people.

I will not waste so much water, and I will not waste
so much energy (only charging my DS or watching TV).

This is what I learned from the Amazon Expedition. You should recycle everything you can. There are many different species of animals in the Amazon. I didn't learn about any different cultures.

I will play less video games and watch less television. I will turn off the lights when I leave a room. I will not waste water.

This is what I learned from the Trans-Amazon Expedition Team. That you must try to recycle everything you can. You also must try to use as little paper as possible to keep the trees in the rain forest to keep are air fresh.

This is what I got out of the Trans-Amazon Expedition. This Expedition has taught me to eat less meat and more fruit. I try to reuse things such as the back of pieces of paper. I try to reduce the trash I use.

I learned that the Amazon River isn't just a muggy, wet, muddy, and buggy place. It has other things in it besides insects that are really annoying. It has animals which are great mystery photos, sites to see, like Belem, and great murky rivers, not to swim in, but to ride a canoe in.

I've heard of Brazil, but I've never ever been there. Now I think I'm going to not waste a lot of electricity, coal, etc. I'm also going to try to save up on energy.

I Learned that you do different things than we do, for example you use less water than we do, you do more recycling than we do and you eat different foods than we do. I also learned about many other fish.

There are so many things that I want to learn next year. One more thing I learned is they do not have cars ,so they have to ride in conies and boats.

The things I learned about Wilderness Classroom was about nature and diferent things in other places.I really like doing mysterey photos because,I can learn about different animals that I have never heard of.It's cool how they show us videos of where they went that week and what they learned about that place.Wilderness classroom is a great place to learn.I love to learn at Wilderness Classroom.

I learned so many cool things. I am going to change by recycling more.I like doing the things on the the Amozon.

I learned so many cool things that I want to go on the expedition. I changed by recycling more. I hope you enjoyed as much as I did.

I learned that people of the Amazon have many different life styles than us. I also learned about a couple of new countries and villages by the river. I also learned that people are cutting down trees in the Amazon, and the animals don't have many places to live. I also learned the people there are poor and need help to live when their resources are being cut down.

I was inspired to recycle as much as possible. I am using things over again if I can.

Some things that I learned about the Amazon are that nature is important to us. I also learned about many different cultures and that they do not have cars. I learned about many different animals too.

Yes,it has inspired me to change. Now I am going to try to recycle more. I also want to try to eat all the food I am given because some people don't have a lot.

In Wilderness classroom I learned that other places out here are less wealthy than we are. Also I learned that using resources you have are very important to use to survive and you have to use those wisely for others so they can use it too. I learned about a new country areas by the river during Wilderness classroom.

Wilderness classroom inspired me to go out and discover things I've never seen before. Then I would also start to turn off water after I'm finish with it. I would also eat all the food I'm given because I remember that their are people who don't have a lot to eat.

I learned that they have to travel by boat and to by car because, there was no road and it was a river. I also learned that the river that they traveled on had many paths to it. I also learned that there are a lot of fruit there.

Yes it did inspired me and
I am very happy about it a lot and I will try to play outside a lot more if I have time to play outside.

I learned that a lot of people there survive on a lot of things in the Amazon. I learned a lot about different kinds of cultures. I learned about the people that live by the river. I learned how they worked. I learned how they live.

Yes, in some ways you did inspire me to explore and go and see the world. I would take the cameras and do it all with videos. Also, I would change my eating habits. I would recycle things. I would take care of the earth .

I learned that the Amazon River is very big and has all different kind of path-ways to take. I learned that cashews need to go through a process before you can eat them or you could get really sick. I also learned that a lot of people who live in the Amazon always traveled by canoe or foot. I learned that the people there grew their food.

You inspired me to explore more about fishermen. I will change by recycling more. I am using water less. Also I am turning off the electricity more.

I learned that the amazon is a very interesting forest. I learned a lot about animals. Also it inspired me to go out and find different animals. I learned about how other city along the river that they make a lot of their stuff they made them self.

It inspired me to recycle more and use less water. I changed my life style by not throwing as much thrash away. I think it would be hard to make my own food every day. I learned that we need to take care of our care of our world.

I learned a lot of interesting things. I learned that the Amazon is a wonderful place to live. I learned about this machine that crushes berries and turn them into juice. I learned about a lot of new animals. I wish when I grow up I'm going to the Amazon to meet you guys. I wish I lived in the Amazon instead of St. Louis, Missouri.
I learned that you do all sorts of crazy stuff to
get all of your food. I learned that Mr.Clark goes with you guys to the Amazon. Mr.Clark is our computer teacher. Did you know that? I learned about
all of the Native Americans
that you meet.
