What Data Should we Collect? printer.gif

Every day in the Trip Tracker journal we post daily data. As you know, we always relate the high and low temperatures for the day and our miles traveled. In addition to this, we always try to think of a bit of fun data to post. We have included data such as how many mangoes we ate one day and typical paddle strokes per minute.

What additional data would you like us to post? It could be about our daily routines, things we see, or something new and fun. Send us suggestions, and maybe suggestions how we should collect the data.

Thanks for your help in determining how to rotate places within the canoes. We're going to start making rotations of team members and positions in the canoe beginning tomorrow.

Sadly, we were not able to visit the manatee research station. The research station closed only a few weeks ago, and the last manatee was released only a few days before we tried to go. It was a major bummer.

Instead we decided to take you up on your second choice for last week's Cast YOUR Vote!. We visited the Tapajos National Forest and toured a pristine section of rainforest. Check out today's Trip Tracker for photos, and look for a video in the coming days!

What is your favorite part of the Trans-Amazon Expedition?

Comments

We're really glad you asked. We think that you should post:
sunrise, sunset, moonrise, moonset, weekly water quality, projected paddle daily start/stop time and actual, and some way to chart your physical conditions(weight gain, weight loss, muscular development). Maybe you could count how many new animal species you encounter during the day.
