How can we conserve water in Manaus?
Thanks for your input for ways to improve our water quality testing for the next leg of the adventure. We're going to look into dissolved oxygen testing. We also have come up with a few ideas to quantify the amount of garbage we see in the river, or along the river bank. We're thinking that we might take an inventory of the amount of floating garbage we see each day and post it in the Daily Data section of Trip Tracker. Thanks for your ideas.

Shower or bathe every other day. Use the river to wash off. Maybe instead of drinking water, you can supplement with a power drink or powder drink.

Maybe you can bathe every other day. Put lemon in your drinking water because it quenches your thirst so that may help with your need for water. Do you have powdered mix for water?
Put your pitcher of water in the fridge. Take showers instead of baths. Drink propel or gatorade. ALso, do not run the water when you are brushing your teeth.

We think you should only drink what you need.

We suggest you conserve water by only use water amounts needed, take quick showers, turn water off when you can, use fresh water in nature instead of running water from a faucet, reuse water when possible.

I think that drinking is super important so even if you can drink something that is not water that is great but don't try too hard to conserve drinking water.
Also, I would definitely try to conserve bathing and showering water. shower every other day but if possible take a rinse off in a clean lake/ pond/ river/ body of water. Good luck!

Maybe each of you get a share of water for the day. Or you can divid the remaining water with each person and each person takes care of their share.

I like the idea of showering every other day. You definitely need to conserve water for drinking. Also, you might be able drink water only when it is a necessity. Do not just drink water for fun. Isn't there any way that you can buy water from a grocery store there? Also, try to pour little amounts of water into your cup when you brush your teeth so you will not waste any extra water.

You guys can preserve water by putting water in small containers so you don't drink all of the water at once. It will balance how much water you drink a day. If you do it like this you will never run out of fresh water from Manaus. If you do this, you will be saving your water and you won't have to drink the gross water from the river (no offense). I hope you think about using my idea.
You can use less water by staying in the shade longer so you can also canoe longer when it's colder outside.

Here are some of the ways that I think you could conserve water while in Manaus.
I think that drinking is super important so if you can drink something that is not water that is great but don't try too hard to conserve drinking water. Some things that you could drink that aren’t water are milk, juice, coffee, tea, soda, and your regular drinks.
Also, I would definitely try to conserve bathing and showering water. shower every other day but if possible take a rinse off in a clean lake/ pond/ river/ body of water.
Here are some ways that I can coserve fresh water at home.
Take quicker showers. Although showering is soothing and relaxing (so is bathing) It shouln’t have to be long. Try to limit how long you shower or bathe for.
In addition, we, like you, should try to drink other things that aren’t water, turn the water off while brushing teeth, and only flush the toilet when it is necessary.
Good luck!

How can you conserve water? If possible, you can rinse with soap in a body of water instead of in a shower or bath. If you can't do that, then you can limit your shower time to five minutes or less. That would conserve plenty of water. You could also try to buy drinks instead of water like milk, juice, coffee, or soda. That way, you can only use regular water when you can't bathe in a natural body of water. Also, you can turn off the water when you brush your teeth to conserve all of the water that runs while you brush. Next, only flush the toilet when you have to. You can always take care of business in the wilderness.
How can we conserve water where we live?
We can conserve water in similar ways that we suggested to you. We can take shorter showers, turn off the water when we aren't using it to brush our teeth, and we can drink drinks besides water. Conserving water is a great way to do our part in saving the environment. We should all work to do our part. Great idea guys. Good luck to you and your team!
