Maybe you can get a air tight bag, and put your gargage in it. Also, eat more fruit then bagged goods.

It is definitely a bad thing that the river is becoming polluted. A way that you can get rid of your garbage (other than tossing it into the river) is to leave it in the bigger cities that you stop at. they are bound to have a garbage dump. if they don't you may have to continue doing it the way you started (handing it to the people). You can reduce this amount of trash by recycling bags, keeping left-overs, etc.

I think you should try making that trash into more things.

i think that all of you should eat more foods that can be held in you and and that can decompose into soil or disinigrat into the water so this way you are not cosing pulution and you can still eat or if i were you i wold take care of the trash my self to make sher its thrown out in the right whay

I think that you should tell the people not to throw their trash in the water. If they don't understand why then tell them that they are polluting their river. Show the people what will happen to there river and then maybe it will stop.

The people should pick up the garbage in water because maybe people are swimming in the water and it is dirty.

We think to reduce your waste you should try to eat more food that isn't in a wrapper like fish out of the river.

We think that it would be good if you could reuse some of the trash. For example, plastic bottles can be reused for water many times rather than once and then throwing out. We think you should continue to give the trash to people in towns or wherever you stay, and ask them if they would separate, recycle and most importantly, not throw it in the river. Maybe you could show the people how to make a compost pile for the organic throw aways.

I think you should try and use some of the nonrecyclables and burry the food that is left over like skins. Also take your recycleables with you and find a recycling center when you leave.

If you use paper, write on the back of it. For food you could use some kind of reuse-able container to keep it in. You could also try to reuse things.
At school and at home we could also use the backs of paper, and reuse-able containers. At home we could also recycle items, and try to keep trash to a minimum.

We think that you could do a burn of the paper only products, a very small and careful fire. We think that you should give the leftover food garbage to the farmers to feed their animals or you could bury the food leftovers. Then you can continue to drop off the trash that you do not burn or bury and explain to them thay they should dispose of it properly. Also, you should really reuse your water bottles and any other containers.

Any plant or animal parts of your garbage could be buried or scattered to break down.

As far as the plastic problem is concerned, one of my kids said to reuse the same bags and don't take any new ones. If the plastic bag breaks, sometimes you can knot it or if it's a bad rip, you pack the lightweight plastic out.

I'll bet a cloth bag could be found to reuse in one of the villages.

I think that it should be a way that you willn't hurt the river because fish live there in you don't with to hurt them

I think you should stop using things that can't be recycled. Instead use organic things.

I agree with Mrs. Hartley, you should make a compost site and put all of your trash there and tell everyone about it and to do the same. You should not put things that won't decompose though!

Make sure you ask the villagers if they are disposing of the trash correctly. The river is not correct. See if there is a recycling area. Educate the villagers and have them bury the trash as a compost pile. Eat more fruit b/c you can easily dispose of the peels without polluting the ecosystem.

We hope that you brought the kinds of utencils that are reusable, like water bottles, food containers, spoons,and forks. however if you did not, we think you should begin reusing these things and not making garbage out of them. Don't buy anything that can't be recycled. Also, you should feed your leftover food to the fish or bury it. This will reduce your garbage.

You should try to reuse your garbage for other needs. Some students think you should take it home on the airplane with you.
