We need help making new friends!
Today is our first night on the M. Monteiro, the launcha that will take us to Fonte Boa, Brazil. There are already about 15 people on board, and it is expected that by the time we leave tomorrow afternoon, the boat will be full. It will take us two days to travel to Fonte Boa, and we want to use that time as a good way to practice our Portuguese.
What are some ways to meet new people on the launcha? What type of things should we ask our new friends? What type of things should we tell them about life in the United States?
Last night, we prepared a special meal for Warren's goodbye party. Carol cooked a chicken with potatoes, peas, onions, garlic, and carrots. It was a great treat, but it was really hard to see Warren leave this afternoon. We all will miss his company, as he is an all-around great guy.
