The mystery photo that you just saw is a chicken.

Many people in the flooded forest raise chickens to eventually eat as food. Because there are no grocery stores in the rainforest, meat is difficult to come by unless it is hunted or raised. The chickens roam around a family's land until they are plump and big enough to feed the family. Other animals that are commonly raised are ducks and guinea pigs.

Often, people in the flooded forest eat the entire chicken, including the head and feet. Chicken is a special treat for families in the rainforest; therefore they want to use the entire bird and waste nothing.

Preparation for cooking a chicken involves cutting off the head, dipping the bird in boiling water, removing the feathers, and then putting the meat on the grill.

The bird is now ready to be placed on the grill.
