Should we buy fish? printer.gif

Please join the Expedition Team in the Chat Room on Friday, April 27th from 1:00-2:00 PM CST. Teachers, please log your class in as one user using an LCD projector. We hope to see you there!

Yesterday we came across a fisherman with a canoe full of fish. We ended up buying some fish for dinner, and then had leftovers for breakfast this morning. It was amazing, and we all were really thankful for such a good meal. The fisherman appreciated our interest in his job and his catch. However, while canoeing this afternoon, we began to wonder if it was a good idea to buy fish when we already have plenty of food. Are there any consequences for buying fish inside the reserve? There are lots of fish in the river, and fishing is legal. What do you think? Should we keep buying fish from fishermen we meet along the way? We really like the fresh fish, but we’re not sure if it’s a good idea or not. Let us know what you think and why.

yes buy fresh fish it is quicker. or eat the food you have.

We think you should try catching your own fish, make sure you don't waste the food you have. If you do not have any luck cathing your own fish, then buy it. If you have extra food, you can give it to the rangers.

Our class thinks yes, you should continue to buy fish along the river. We think this because you will have a better dinner each night, it helps the fisherman to make money, and you might not have the fishing supplies with you.

Eat the fish and keep the fishermen in business!

I strongly think that you should really start to at least try to catch some fish on your own. It might be fun. But if not just buy the fish!

Maybe you guys should possibly buy some fishing equipment and try and catch some of your own fish.

I think that you should buy fish because you are probably bored of eating rice and lentils.

I don't think you should buy too many fish, but maybe save them for times you really want fresh fish because then if you're hesitant you won't be eating too much fish but enough to suit you.

i believe that you should buy fish. if you like fish, buy them... its also helps the farmers if they are poor to have money!!

BUY THE FISHYYYYYYYYYS!!!!!!!
x3 once again,
Tunie-Anne

I think you shoud fish for your own fish because it will be more healthy and fun.

We strongly belive that Dave Freeman and his crew should catch their own fish because instead of buying your fish from the fisherman.Dave freeman and his crew should catch their fish.

We think you should catch fish on your own to eat. If you don't catch any, then you can eat the food you already have. This way you are saving money, not wasting food, and getting to experience gathering your own food.

Since you already have lots of food you don't need to buy fish on the reserve. You can use the money for something else later :)

We think you should continue to buy fish from the fishermen because it keeps your body strong and alert and it also help the fishermen with their business.

Half the class feels you should fish for yourself and the other half feels you should help the fishermen's families and purchase fish.

Our class thinks that buying fish may be helping out a family by giving them money, so you should buy fish if you want to.

The group feels you should keep buying fish. You need a good meal and this is something you enjoy. They did suggest that you might put out nets while you sleep to see if you can catch some fish yourselves.

We think you should try to catch your own fish, but if you can't, you should buy fresh fish from the fishermen you see as you explore.

I think you should neither buy or catch the fish. Do you really want the fish to be hurt just because you like the way they taste?

YES YOU SHOULD BUY FISH.SO YOU CAN SHOW US THE FISH ,IN PICTRUES
