The mystery photo that you just saw is a row of hammocks.
Hammocks are very common in Peru, for they can be used while
riding for several days on the lancha (river boat), camping in the flooded forest,
and lounging around at home.
Hammocks can be made out
of all different materials. The ones you see in the picture are made out of cotton.
The hammocks that we are using during Project Peru 2 are made of nylon and have
mosquito nets attached. What kind of hammock would you like to use?

There is not much to do during the three day trip from Iquitos to the Pacaya Samiria
National Reserve. People riding on the lancha take the opportunity to relax and
enjoy the scenery during the trip up the Amazon River. How would you like to lounge
around in a hammock for three days?...and without video games?
